In the current world that we live in, it's hard not to fall victim to scams. However, there are a few things we could do;
1. Never share your card details with anyone
2. Never share OTP to approve a transaction
3. Never pass around your card for others to use
If you see a payment you don't recognize, it might not be a fraud. It could be a pending or delayed payment. Check if it could be due to petrol station pre-authorization, offline transactions, unfamiliar business names, small verification charges, or unexpected subscription charges.
Suspect a fraudulent charge?
Firstly, freeze your card! This can easily be done on the mobile app. This will prevent any payments to go through.
Next, confirm they are not any pre-authorized payments, small verification charges, or unexpected subscription charges.
Reach out to Swipey's CS team to terminate and replace your card. Now, let's report the suspected fraudulent charge.
Drop us an email at help@swipey.co with the following details:
- User's email on Swipey
- Last 4 digits of the card number
- Transaction ID
- Transaction details (date, time, merchant, amount)
Our team will verify the details and reach out to you. Swipey team will raise a Dispute Form directly to Visa. This process may take up to 180 days for Visa to confirm that it is a fraudulent charge and process a refund back to your card.
